- Drummond's willow has been found fairly often along montane creek banks, often with other species of Salix. There are no vouchers from the Culebras but there are some from the Rio Grande drainage in the northern third of New Mexico (Kittel has verified it from Costilla Co). There are no records from the La Garitas or the southern Sawatch Range, but the distribution continues on north in those mountains. The species is a Rocky Mountain willow ranging up to the Canadian border. It follows the Rio Grande drainage only into Santa Fe Co, New Mexico.
