- NEED IN SITU PHOTOS. For this willow, there is only one location, “upper slopes and summit of Del Norte Peak” (Flaig, 2003). Gwen Kittel has confirmed this location, as well as one other in Colorado, in Garfield Co. BONAP adds one other Colorado county, Routt. Kittel notes that the species "really cannot be seen unless one is on hands and knees combing the tundra with one's fingers," and she suggests for this reason it may be more widespread in Colorado (2023, p. 223). The Watershed location would lie, somewhat isolated, at the extreme southeastern corner of the USA distribution, which is primarily Washington, with scattered populations in Montana, Wyoming, Utah, and Colorado.
