- NEED IN SITU PHOTOS. Salix boothii is not often collected from the Watershed, and only from the south San Juans: for example, along Rio de los Pinos above Trujillo Reservoir (2001, collected by Robert D. Dorn, the willow expert). A high-montane, wet-meadow, and stream-side willow, it has also been collected, but not often, from the east and west mountains of the New Mexico Rio Grande drainage (but only as far south as Sandoval Co). The Watershed stands at the southeastern edge of the USA distribution, which covers all states west of the Great Plains. Note that S. boothii, S. wolfii, and S. arizonicus are easily confused (see Kittel 2023, p. 199) for distinguishing characters).
