NEED IN SITU PHOTOS. For balsam popular there is only one Watershed location, 6 miles S of Wagon Wheel Gap, by a horse corral near Lake Humphreys (2014). The tree is found throughout the USA western states (except for New Mexico and Arizona), and across the entire northern quarter of the nation. In the USA and Canada it is used for pulp and decorative carpentry.
