- Galium triflorum occupies much the same habitats as G. trifidum, but it is less often recorded from the Watershed, and so far restricted to the south San Juans. The 2017 Beaver Creek photorecord location would add Rio Grande to counties indicated in Ackerfield (2022) and BONAP (2022). However, it is present in both east and west mountains of the Rio Grande drainage in New Mexico, and extends down river through the state and into the southwest corner of Texas. Note that descriptions of G. triflorum sometimes state that the species has whorls of six leaves per node, but whorls of five leaves are also fairly common.
