- Chokecherry is common on canyon walls and creek banks throughout the Watershed, sometimes—to the convenience of jelly makers—alongside roads. It follows the Rio Grande drainage into far west Texas, and can be found in most counties of the USA, with the exception of the Deep South and most of Texas.
