- Blueleaf cinquefoil has been fairly frequently collected from both sides of the Watershed, usually from rocky slopes, saddles, and knolls in the tundra, although its habitat does include the higher montane. The presence of Potentilla glaucophylla on into the Rio Grande drainage of the top third of New Mexico marks the southeastern edge of its USA distribution, which covers all states west of the Great Plains. Note that the species has been often treated as P. diversifolia. Argument for the name P. glaucophylla is found in Ertter et al. (2014), as expounded in FNA.
