- NEED IN SITU PHOTOS. There are only three records of Potentilla effusa from the Watershed: two from the hills to the northwest of Saguache; one from a creek flowing into Pinos Creek S of Del Norte. BONAP shows Costilla Co, with no vouchers in SEINet; These locations would mark the extreme southern reach of the USA distribution, which is Wyoming with small areas of adjacent states. Ackerfield treats this as a variety of P. hippiana, and FNA notes that the distinction between P. effusa and P. hippiana is "marred by intermediate populations throughout their shared range," which would include the Watershed.
