- Between 1898 and 1941 tansy cinquefoil was recorded from around the Watershed, at lower elevations (basin to montane), a number for instance from around Alamosa. Then 50 years later Potentilla bipinnatifida was recorded from four locations all between Del Norte and South Fork. That includes the recent photorecord (2021). These Watershed locations, including a few from New Mexico (including one from Taos Co) mark the southern extreme of the USA distribution, which mainly is central Colorado and Wyoming. Ackerfield shows Costilla, with no vouchers in SEINet. Note that P. bipinnatifida and P. pensylvanica are similar, except that the first has longer lobes on the leaflets. It is not unlikely that on occasion P. bipinnatifida has been mistaken for the quite common P. pensylvanica.
