- Comments
- Uncommon in the Watershed, Geum rivale has been occasionally found in riparian habitats, sometimes alongside roads, almost all on the west side of the Valley. The only record from the Cristos is from just west of La Veta Pass (1935). But the flower is consistently found in the Rio Grande Cristos of New Mexico. The Conejos River photorecord (2021) would add Conejos to the counties indicated in Ackerfield (2022) and BONAP (2022). The species extends down the Rio Grande drainage only as far as Santa Fe Co, New Mexico. It has scattered locations up the Rocky Mountains to Canada and across the northern states to New England.
