- In the Watershed much more commonly recorded than Geum aleppicum, G. macrophyllum is found in a range of mesic habitats: creek sides, lake sides, beaver ponds, forest seeps, shaded forest edges, occasionally in road-side ditches. It has been collected, however, from the Watershed Cristos only at the farthest south (Decker Cr.), at nearly the New Mexico border. In New Mexico, it follows the Rio Grande drainage to the Mexican border, but no farther. Its USA range is all Western states and states bordering on Canada, from Washington to Maine. Note that the variety of G. macrophyllum in the Watershed is var. perincisum, with glandular-puberulent pedicels.
