- In the Watershed, on both sides of the Valley Fragaria virginia is more often collected than F. vesca, and from a broader reach of vegetatives zones. The two basin records represent two locations, both by streams (the Rio Grande and Conejos River). In the USA the plant is wide spread, found everywhere except for the Great Plains, Texas, and the Great Basin. In New Mexico, the species follows the Rio Grande drainage to the Mexican border but no farther.
