- Comments
- Fragaria vesca has been collected on both sides of the Valley, from forest openings and meadow edges, often from rocky outcrops. The locations are generally lower in elevation than for F. virginiana, and the number of collections are fewer. F. vesca is not recorded from the Culebras but is no doubt present there, judging from New Mexico records from its Cristos. In New Mexico the species follows the Rio Grande drainage down to the Mexican border. The USA distribution covers all areas except for the Great Plains, Texas, and the South.
