- Comments
- A common member of foothill and montane canyon plant communities, growing on steep rocky slopes and volcanic outcrops and ridges, mountain mahogany has been collected from all mountains regions of the Watershed except for the south Cristo (but undoubtedly present there). Primarily a USA Southwest plant, Cercicarpus montanus grows on down the Rio Grande drainage though New Mexico past the Big Bend country of Texas.
