- In the Watershed, service berry is a common bush of canyons, stream sides, and forest openings, on both sides of the Valley. As yet there are no records for the Culebras, but plenty from the Rio Grande drainage Cristos in New Mexico. The plant can be found throughout the western states and along the northern Great Plains. It follows the Rio Grande drainage about halfway down New Mexico but no farther.
