- NEED IN SITU PHOTOS. Ranunculus pedatifidus is typically a tundra species, but in the Watershed—where it is found not often—it can grow at lower elevations. For sample locations: West Indian Creek in Costilla Co (Rydberg, 1900); a saddle below Antero Peak N in Saguache Co (1998); South Fork of Rock Creek in Rio Grande Co, although the geo-references point to Conejos Co (2004). The USA distribution shows scattered concentrations in the Rockies of Colorado, Wyoming, and Montana, with outlying populations in Arizona, Utah, and Nevada. The Watershed collections are the only ones in the entire Rio Grande drainage.
