- NEED IN SITU PHOTOS. Of Ranunculus longirostris there are few Watershed records: for example, west of La Veta Pass (1900); the Blanca Wetlands (1975); 8 mi E of Alamosa (1986); 10 miles S. of Wagon Wheel Gap (1947). This aquatic buttercup has been found on floodplains and in water (e.g., stock ponds). Note that the herbarium record must be taken as tentative; BONAP separates R. longirostris from R. trichophyllus and R. aquatilis. Sticking with R. aquatilis are Ackerfield, FNA, and Allred et al. (2020), the last two saying that the distinctions separating R. longirostris are not "tenable." The farthest down stream in the Rio Grande drainage shown by BONAP for R. longirostris are Torrance Co, New Mexico, and Culberson Co, Texas.
