- Along with Ranunculus macauleyi, R. inamoenus is the most commonly collected buttercup from the Watershed, found in wet meadows, marshy flats, forest edges, open rocky slopes, sometimes in association with spruce in the subalpine. This is a Rockies and Intermountain plant that follows the Rio Grande drainage through New Mexico nearly to the border with Mexico, but no farther down the drainage.
