- The Watershed has five vouchers for Ranunculus gmelinii, all in the montane, usually by shallow ponds, springs, or other wetlands, sometimes growing in the water: 3 in the south San Juans of Conejos Co (1985-1988), and 2 in the Culebras of north Costilla Co (1939-1956). The 2022 photorecord adds another observation from Conejos Co, 34 years after the last one. This buttercup is relatively easy to determine, with lobed leaves and roots at the nodes. The USA range is disjunct, with an eastern population around the Great Lakes and northern Plains, and a Rocky Mountain population that extends as far south as Rio Arriba and Taos counties of New Mexico but no farther.
