- NEED IN SITU PHOTOS. The Watershed owns seven records, in the montane and subalpine, often in association with seeps in spruce woods, and on wet rock ledges or at the edge of melting snow banks: Hunters Lake and Crystal Lake (Mineral Co, 1995), Rock Creek; Cat Creek Park; and Shady Creek Trail, 1.7 miles S of Del Norte Peak summit (Rio Grande Co, 1984-2003), above Eldorado Lake (Hinsdale Co, 1972); and by Medano Lake trail near the Great Sand Dunes (Saguache Co), The flower grows at higher elevations in all USA states W of the Great Plains. In New Mexico, it has been recorded in the Rio Grande drainage of Santa Fe Co, but no farther south.
