- Cutleaf anemone is the most common anemone of the Watershed, found in open habitats such as meadows and edges and openings of woods, habitats ranging from xeric to mesic (such as by beaver ponds). It has not yet been collected from the Cristos of the Watershed in Colorado, but no doubt present there, since it has been collected from the Rio Grande Cristos of northern New Mexico, which marks the southern edge of its USA distribution. That range is largely Western, with a scattering of occurrences around the Great Lakes.
