- So far there are around 14 records of Canadian anemone from the Watershed, all a little west of La Veta Pass. (The most recent is from the town of Blanca, Alamosa Co, July 2023: iNaturalist observation 171816344). This Watershed distribution accords with the Colorado distribution, which is the entire Front Range. In New Mexico, the flower follows the Cristos and even the canyon of the Rio Grande down almost to Villita. The Rockies distribution is disjunct from that of the rest of the USA, which centers around the northern Great Plains, Great Lakes, and New England. Note that Plants of the World and Ackerfield (2022) treat this taxon as Anemonastrum canadense; FNA and BONAP (2023) so far stick with the tradition genus of Anemone.
