Potemogeton nodosus is the most commonly collected pondweed in the Watershed (although, all in all, not many records), from watery habitats such as ponds and drainage ditches, with one montane record, a pond near Hot Creek (Conejos Co). The species has recorded locations in all states of the USA, and follows the the Rio Grande drainage through New Mexico and Texas to the Gulf of Mexico.
