- Comments
- Potamogeton gramineus has only three observed locations in the Watershed: Dry Lake, near La Jara Reservoir (Conejos Co, 1987), Baca National Wildlife Refuge (Saguache Co, 2012), and a ditch with flowing artesian water near Monte Vista (Rio Grande Co, 2021, 2022). Quite likely, however, this pondweed has a more extensive presence in the Watershed, particularly in the Culebras. In New Mexico, it has been recorded from Rio Arriba, Taos, and Colfax counties, all bordering Colorado and the farthest reach down the Rio Grande drainage. In the USA the species is quite common, unrecorded only from the southeast quarter of the country and Texas.
