- NEED IN SITU PHOTOS. Ribbonleaf pondweed has so far been found only in the Watershed from two small ponds a little NW of Elwood Pass and from De Herrera Lake 23 miles W of Conejos. Probably it is more widespread than this scanty record indicates. This pondweed is a northern USA species, with extensions southward in the East and in the Rockies, where the Conejos Co location marks its limit and the only locations in the entire Rio Grande drainage.
