- In the Watershed Rumex densiflorus is a higher elevation dock, found on wet meadow slopes and by ponds and creeks, sometime on gravel bars and talus slopes. Records all come from the west side of the Watershed, but the plant has been collected from the Cristos of New Mexico. This giant rumex is a Southern Rockies plant, its range confined to Wyoming, Colorado, and New Mexico. Early foliage is edible, hence its common name, "wild rhubarb." The species follows the Rio Grande drainage to Bernalillo Co, New Mexico, but not farther down stream.
