- Comments
- From the Watershed there is only one herbarium voucher, a plant found near Fox Creek, 12 miles SW of Conejos, on a slope of sandy soil, collected in 1986. The 2021 photorecord adds a location on Luders Creek in Saguache Co. This may under-represent the presence of Polygonum kelloggii in the Watershed since, as Ackerfield says, it is "easily overlooked." It is reported from Rio Arriba Co in New Mexico, but no farther south in the Rio Grande drainage. It is present in all USA states west of the Great Plains. Note that Ackerfield (2022) and other authorities make this taxon a subspecies of Polygonum polygaloides.
