Aquatic or semi-aquatic, Persicaria amphibia is found in the Watershed afloat or at the muddy edge of ponds, streams, irrigation ditches, marshes, playas, etc. This smartweed is found in every state of the USA, and follows the Rio Grande drainage, intermittently, to the Gulf of Mexico.
