- Comments
- On both sides of the Valley, James's buckwheat is very common on rocky slopes of pinyon-juniper foothills, edging up into the montane. The one Basin record is from the San Luis Hills. It is not yet recorded from the Culebras, but frequently recorded from the Cristos on south in New Mexico. Eriogonum jamesii is found in Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, and follows the Rio Grande drainage to the Big Bend in Texas. Note that many taxonomic keys distinguish Eriogonum jamesii from E. arcuatum with a non-morphological feature, the color of the perianth.
