Comments
The few records of Baker's buckwheat are scattered around the Valley, usually from bare foothill slopes. There is an established group from the volcanic outwash in the vicinity of Creede. One outlier was collected from the alpine head of Raspberry Creek in the north Cristos. The Watershed records (and several from the Rio Grande drainage of the Cristos of New Mexico) mark the SW edge of the USA range. The USA range is restricted to Arizona, Utah, southern Wyoming, Colorado, and New Mexico, where, according to Allred et al. (2020) it follows the Rio Grande drainage, spottily, down to Otero Co. Note that the separation of E. arcuatum, E. umbellatum, and E. jamesii (all found in the Watershed) is not as clean as some taxonomic keys seem to make out.
