Comments
Around the Watershed Polemonium foliosissimum is a common montane jacob's-ladder, typically found in gravelly or sandy soil in or near trees in the montane. Occasialonly it is found higher up (e.g., in scree on Conejos Peak at 13,300’). The large majority of records are from the south San Juans, although there are clusters around the Great Sand Dunes and east of La Veta Pass. This Rocky Mountain and Intermountain species (with its many varieties) follows the Rio Grande drainage in New Mexico down to the Mexican border but not into Texas. Note that the color of the corolla can range from blue to white.
