- Phlox multiflora seems as scarce in the Watershed as it is in north-central New Mexico. The two clear locations are the Wheeler Geologic Area (1987) and near Del Norte (2016). One herbarium voucher (1964) is labeled Conejos Co, probably the wrong county since the location is “foothills near Boulder” (the collector, Robert A. Janke, was collecting in Boulder Co at the same time). Another voucher from Saguache Co is just labeled "Valley bottom" (1972). The two Watershed occurrences along with a few from north-central New Mexico would lie at the southern tail-end of the USA distribution, which is the Rockies up through Montana and the panhandle of Idaho.
