- NEED IN SITU PHOTOS. For Microsteris gracilis there are two Watershed vouchers: one from the north Cristos, on the Rito Alto trail 7 miles N of Crestone (2009, Saguache Co); the other from the headwaters of Sangre de Cristo Creek (1900, Costilla Co.) BONAP shows Mineral Co, with no vouchers in SEINet. The flower has been frequently collected in Archuleta Co just west of the Divide, for instance around Chimney Rock. In New Mexico the species generally follows the Rio Grande drainage from Rio Arriba and Taos counties down to the Mexican border. One would then expect occurrences at least in Conejos Co. Slender phlox is a very wide spread flower. The USA distribution includes records from most of the counties situated west of the Great Plains.
