- NEED IN SITU PHOTOS. For bluebowls there is one Watershed location, “by radio tower on road to Zapata Falls, N of Blanca” (Alamosa Co, 1998). In Colorado, the range is southwest counties on up the Arkansas River into Chaffee Co. It has been found on the eastern slopes of the Cristos in Huerfano Co. Perhaps it is surprising not to find more occurrences in the Watershed, since the flower is found throughout New Mexico, including the Rio Grande drainage from Rio Arriba Co in the north to Doña Ana Co in the south. It continues on down the drainage past Big Bend in Texas. The USA distribution is restricted to eastern Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, and west Texas, along with scattered Plains locations in Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas.
