- This native plantain of the Intermountain USA has occasionally been found in the south San Juans of the Watershed, in Conejos and Rio Grande counties. Plantago tweedyi occupyies open montane spaces, meadows or rocky inclines; for instance, south of Grayback pass (Rio Grande Co, 1972, 1995, 2023), or near Trujillo Reservoir (Conejos Co, 1986). The farthest location down the Rio Grande drainage is Santa Fe Co, New Mexico. Compared to P. eriopoda, P. tweedy prefers non-alkaline ground and high elevations.
