- NEED IN SITU PHOTOS. Penstemon harbourii is more common in the San Juan River drainage, but often enough collected in the Watershed, mainly on the west side (e.g., Sheep Mountain, 1922; Hossick Peak, 1935; Wild Cherry Lake, 1942; Elwood Pass, 1991; Conejos Peak, 2013). This alpine beardtongue is endemic to Colorado, found in the central mountains, the San Juans, and in the Four Corners region.
