Comments
Scarlet penstemon is common on dry, rocky slopes in all mountain regions of the Watershed, also sometimes on roadsides and other ruderal ground. The species is present in the mid-elevations of southern Utah, Arizona, Colorado, and New Mexico, where it follows the Rio Grande drainage all the way to the Big Bend county of Texas.
