- In the Watershed, Rocky Mountain snowlover has been collected fairly often from high elevations on both sides of the Valley. Except for a few records from two Wyoming counties bordering on Colorado and a few records from Taos County in New Mexico, Chionophila jamesii would be endemic to Colorado. It is usually found in wet or dry steep alpine slopes, often rocky.
