- Callitriche palustris is a common aquatic in the Watershed mountains, although (as all aquatics) relatively not often sought or collected. This species adapts to any quiet water, including an old beaver pond, a stock pond, and a tractor-wheel water station for cattle. It is present in all Western states and across the northern third of the USA into New England. But it follow the Rio Grande drainage two thirds of the way down New Mexico, no farther.
