- NEED IN SITU PHOTOS. Of Parnassia palustris there are only two Watershed records, dating from 80 years ago, both on Ute Creek near Ft. Garland (Costilla, Co). Ackerfield (2015, 2022) shows Conejos Co, with no vouchers in SEINet. The taxonomic position of Parnassia palustris vis-a-vis Parnassia parviflora is vexed. Some authorities treat P. parviflora as a variety of P. palustris; others vice versa. BONAP separates P. palustris (CA, MT, ND, WI) from P. parviflora (Intermountain regions and the Central and Southern Rockies). However named, the flower has a few location in the New Mexico Rio Grande drainage, down nearly to the border with Mexico.
