- In the Watershed northern bog orchid has been collected more frequently than P. huronensis or P. tescamis. It grows in a variety of mesic habitats of both sides of the Valley, usually shaded stream sides but also open hillside seeps. The one Lower Basin collection (1989) was from the Conejos River bottomland where Hwy 285 crosses it. Its USA distribution covers the Rocky Mountains (including New Mexico) and the northern third of the country. It follows the Rio Grande drainage only as far as Sandoval Co, New Mexico.
