- Rocky Mountain willowherb is fairly common in all mountain regions of the Watershed, ranging from montane to tundra, usually in riparian and mesic habitats: roadside ditches, stream sides, cliff seeps, wet alpine meadows, etc. Epilobium saximontanum ranges two-thirds of the way down the Rio Grande drainage in New Mexico, but no farther. Its USA distribution is scattered in parts of all states west of the Great Plains.
