- NEED IN SITU PHOTOS. Of Epilobium lactiflorum there are less than 10 Watershed records, all in the south San Juans. Hogan and Elliot (2022), however, report one occurrence from the Great Sand Dunes (Saguache Co), and another occurrence from just east of Music pass (in Custer Co). Distinguishing E. lactiflorum from E. hornemannii is not easy, nor has the distinction been long accepted, so the distribution here is shaky, based as it is in part on older SEINet vouchers. The species is present in all Western USA states, and follows the Rio Grande drainage to Socorro Co, New Mexico, but no farther.
