Comments
For Fendler's globemallow there are only five records and two locations, both in the La Garitas foothills of Saguache Co: Penitente Canyon parking area (1989, 2015, 2018), and Coolbroth Canyon, a little further north (2003). Ackerfield (2015) does not show Saguache Co, but BONAP does, along with Costilla Co (with vouchers not in SEINet). Sphaeralcea fendleri is fairly frequently collected in the San Juan River drainage, around Pagosa Springs and south. The Watershed occurrences mark the northern edge of the USA distribution, which is primarily Arizona and New Mexico. The species is present in the Rio Grande drainage through all of New Mexico into the tip of west Texas.
