Comments
Scarlet globemallow grows all around the Watershed in both mesic and xeric habitats, on open slopes and forest openings. A hardy native, resistance to drought conditions and human traffic, it has adapted to ruderal habitats such as road sides, street sides, driveways, etc. In the USA Sphaeralcea coccinea is very common from the central Great Plains to the Great Basin. It follows the Rio Grande drainage to Big Bend, Texas.
