- From the Watershed there are only two vouchers, one from Adams State University campus (Alamosa Co 1976) and one from private property in the town of Capulin (Conejos Co, 1983-1984). Malva neglecta has a larger presence in the Valley than this suggests. For instance currently the species can be found along many street verges of Del Norte—see the 2020 photorecord, which would add Rio Grande to counties shown in Ackerfield (2022) and BONAP (2022). And the extent that this plant has spread from an urban habitat may be judged by the 2016 photorecord from the Elk Creek campground in Conejos Co. The species has been recorded from every USA state except for Alabama and Florida, and follows the Rio Grande drainage through all of New Mexico down to the Big Bend country of Texas.
