- NEED IN SITU PHOTOS. For Mentzelia dispersa there is one Watershed location, with two specimens: E of Hwy 150, ± 1.5 air mi S of the Great Sand Dunes National Monument (1999). This would be the farthest SW reach of this species in the USA, and the only records from the Rio Grande drainage. Sometimes it takes advantage of disturbed soil. The species is present in all states west of the Great Plains.
