- Comments
- There are scattered records for this high-elevation lily on both sides of the Valley: e.g., Victoria Lake (Conejos Co), Costilla Creek headwaters (Costilla Co), California Peak (Alamosa Co), east of Bonanza (Saguache Co), Sheep Mountain (San Juan Co), near Mt Hope on the Continental Divide trail (Mineral Co), etc. Its USA distribution consists of scattered locations from Otero Co in south New Mexico on up through the Rockies to Montana, with a disjunct population in the Cascades of northwest Washington. The species does not continue on down the Rio Grande drainage into Texas. Note that the inclusion of Lloydia within Gagea is based on fairly recent molecular analysis (2008, 2009) and is not yet accepted by FNA or BONAP.
