- NEED IN SITU PHOTOS. For spearmint there are three records, all from the Upper Basin: two in and near the town of Alamosa (1980, 1993), and one from a meadow on La Garita Creek (N of Del Norte). This exotic is now nativized or adventive in all states of the USA except for North Dakota. It has been recorded from the Rio Grande drainage in Doña Ana and Otero counties of New Mexico and Brewster Co of Texas (Big Bend country).
