- In the Watershed mountain gooseberry is the most commonly collected currant in the tundra and subalpine, found in all mountain regions except the south Sawatch Range. It grows in all USA states west of the Great Plains, and is present in the Rio Grande drainage mountains of New Mexico down to Otero Co (but no farther down stream).
